Loren has been a part of IT at NAIT for the past twenty-four years, starting in a technical role in NAIT's PeopleSoft implementation. He now leads NAIT Applications and Integration portfolio in IT including Enterprise Systems, Application Development, Cloud & DevOps, Business Intelligence, Data Governance, and Enterprise Architecture. In the past several years, Loren has focused on cloud migration, application modernization, the development of NAIT's integration capabilities and what comes after PeopleSoft.

Ashton has been leading the Enterprise Business Solutions team at NorQuest College for 2 years. Private Client Servicing: One the largest financial services company was looking to streamline business processes in it wealth business line leveraging Appian. Amit has been instrumental in getting their core banking operations on their Appian Orchestration layer allowing them to modernize their banking process. 

Largest Oil and Gas Client Calgary: One of the largest Oil and Gas company based out of Calgary worked with Amit to implement their Field Modernization solution. Amit helped the client to build their UI based platform on appian allowing them a significant ROI on the platform. 

Investment Allocation Process: Amit is assisted a client with automating their Bank Financial Allocation processes involving investment creation, investment locking, allocation and finalization. He worked as the technology lead and was responsible to design and development of the solution and overall team management. 

Large University : Amit Banerjee was managing the Localized team as the Appian technology lead. He was responsible for assigning stories, planning spring for BPM track. The client, a university was looking to automate processes such as transcript requests, course scheduling, and graduation milestones.

Adam Asquini

Mr. Asquini is a Director at KPMG’s Management Consulting practice, based in Edmonton (AB), leading service delivery teams in the Information Management and Data Analytics domain. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering (with Great Distinction), a University Certificate in Computer and Information Systems, several professional certifications in IT governance, architecture and project management and has 16 years of consulting and industry experience in digital transformation, information technology service delivery and applied artificial intelligence engagements. Chief Information Security Officer

Charles has over 20 years of experience in IT, primarily as a software developer and architect. Much of his experience has been acquired in the private sector until 8 years ago when he moved into the exciting and challenging world of Higher Education IT. Charles has just recently transitioned from being the Chief Information Security Officer at MacEwan University to their new Director of Cloud Services. In his new role he plans to be a DevOps champion and technology mentor, and to lead MacEwan on their "cloud first" journey.

Nav Anand has been with AWS for over 5 years, where he is currently the Solutions Architecture Leader for Education, EdTechs, and Financial Services for the Canadian business. Prior to this, Nav built and led the Partner Organizations tech teams for AWS Canada. Prior to AWS, Nav spent over a decade working at PeopleSoft/Oracle building, selling, and implementing various ERP systems. During his 20 year career Nav has worked across 4 continents and has been an Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (IDE) leader. A former start-up founder, and experience across multiple industries fuels Nav’s desire for life-long learning because you never know where the learning journey takes you.

Ken Lane

Ken has been with the University of Calgary for the past 12 years in a career that has spanned 32 years in multiple industries including Higher Education, Transportation, Telecommunications, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Government. His current portfolio consists of Enterprise Applications and platforms, Applications (Vendor, SaaS and Custom Developed), Business Intelligence & Analytics, Integrations, Content & Collaboration, Geospatial Services and ucalgary.ca web services. Ken's most recent initiatives all involve migrating services to the cloud including Hyperion to EPM Cloud, modernizing the Business Intelligence Platform, the migration of SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online, completing a Proof of Concept to migrate platforms/applications to Microsoft Azure and the planned Proof of Concept to host PeopleSoft as an IaaS solution.

What is a hybrid event?

Having the UNITE 2023 Conference as a hybrid event means that guests and speakers are able to attend and present both in-person and virtually. Whether you attend as an in-person guest or a virtual one, you will be able to attend all sessions.

Why is there a fee to attend virtually?

Hosting the UNITE 2023 Conference as a hybrid event increases costs significantly. In order for guests and speakers to attend and present virtually, there are added costs for equipment and on-site technicians for the duration of the event. Adding the hybrid option increases the total cost of the conference to uDigit by roughly 60%.

How do I attend the sessions virtually?

Simply log in via unite2023.ca using the email address you used to register and follow the link that is emailed to you. All the sessions will be visible and a link to the Zoom meeting will be available once the conference has begun. Please note that you must toggle between Monday and Tuesday to see all sessions.

Do I need need to register if I am a speaker or operating a vendor booth?

We ask that everyone attending the event please register. This is to ensure we have enough food and seats as well as so we can accommodate for any dietary restrictions.

Will food be provided at the conference?

Yes! The UNITE 2023 Conference will have a delicious buffet breakfast and lunch as well as coffee and snacks during break times. Please include any dietary restrictions during your registration so that we can accommodate your needs.

Will there be entertainment?

Yes! Edmonton's Rapid Fire Theatre will be delivering a hilarious improv comedy show in the Maple Leaf room during lunch (11:45-1:00 PM) on Monday, May 29th.
