The Basic Field Locksmithing course is designed for people who have less than one year of full-time locksmith experience.

Class Outline:

1. Introduction to the class, overview of the locksmith trade, ethics, and tools
2. Cylinder basics, pin tumbler formats, key basics, key creation, pinning and rekeying, basic masterkey overview
3. Door construction, residential hardware, commercial hardware, exit devices, closers, auxiliary hardware
4. Lockouts, lock bypassing, lock picking, alternate bypass methods
5. Access control basics, access control hardware, basic overview of access control troubleshooting and repair
6. Locksmithing best practices, record keeping, part identification, part sourcing, quoting
7. Scenario-based skills stations

Class Information & Pricing:

• $1,500 for the 40-hour class

• 8 hours per day from Monday - Friday

• Includes a class book and tool bag with tools

• Lunch will be provided daily by Wesco

• Attendees are responsible for travel, hotel, breakfasts & dinners

Locksmith licensing varies by state and local jurisdiction. Completion of this course may not satisfy licensing regulations in all areas.
