Hosted by Diversity in Engineering and the Engineering Co-op Office, the Underrepresented Genders in Engineering Mixer is an opportunity for undergraduate students, industry professionals, and researchers to form connections with other members of underrepresented genders – including women, transgender and nonbinary people, as well as anyone who doesn't see their gender represented in the field of engineering.

We aim to provide students with successful role models in their field, connect students and professionals to build networks, and cultivate diversity and inclusivity in engineering culture.

This event is aimed at:

• Undergraduate students from all disciplines looking for internships and co-op placements
• Graduating students from all disciplines looking for after-degree placements
• Industry professionals from companies in all disciplines
• University of Alberta researchers and graduate students

This event will include:

• A Q&A period dedicated to the way that guests' experiences in engineering has been affected (or not) by gender, challenges they've faced/overcome, and advice they may have for students
• A socialization period for asking further questions, talking with professionals, and general networking
• Free food!

In accordance with the Government of Alberta's general guidance for COVID-19 and other respirator infections, we encourage attendees to wear masks or face coverings and to not attend if they feel ill. Please help keep everyone safe and healthy!
