Mental Wellness 101: Global and Virtual Teams

Course Overview:

COVID-19 transformed workplaces from physical offices into new virtual, and sometimes even global, dimensions within the context of an unpredictable environment and future. Leaders are now called upon to guide staff in a fully virtual setting while employees balance work from home with the stress of a worldwide pandemic. Taking these new variables and circumstances into account, this workshop provides a space for leaders to advance skillsets to support mental wellness remotely and address issues of stress related to virtual team formats and cultural-related stigmas. This workshop offers strategies for leaders who must learn to identify signs of mental illness and work toward solutions within a disparate team framework.

Mental Wellness education is critical to our work lives! This course is appropriate for anyone who works within a remote and/or global team. After the workshop, participants will take back practical knowledge to immediately put into practice at work. In addition to necessary skills, learners will be able to earn continuing education credit and a digital badge certifying mental wellness skills (read on for further details about available micro-credentials).

This session will last a total of 4 hours and 15 minutes, with breaks, and will be done entirely over Zoom. Learners will be encouraged to actively participate and should ensure both microphone and camera access over Zoom.
