The Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Kansas Education and Research Network are proud to present the research and scholarly activities of its faculty and students. Come enjoy an evening of engaging conversations about the ideas and thoughts of our academic community.
Our keynote speaker for the event, FBI Special Agent (Ret.) Dr. Thomas J. Ropel, is a scholar-practitioner whose career spans 21 years of high-stakes investigations around the globe, including interviewing high-profile individuals while they were intubated in ICU beds. From leading interrogations on the Joint Terrorism Task Force to teaching science-based interviewing to intelligence and law enforcement personnel from over a dozen countries, Dr. Ropel has mastered the art and science of extracting accurate information under the most extreme circumstances. In his keynote, he’ll reveal how the same strategies that uncover critical intelligence can be applied to patient interviews, clinical encounters, and research data collection. Learn how to build trust, minimize bias, navigate cognitive load, and get reliable information, even when stakes are high.
Drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and special vendors will round out a special evening of reconnecting and making new acquaintances.
