605-Jungian Studies: Analytical Psychology and Mythologies of the Brazil and the African Diaspora

Description:

This seminar will introduce students to the views of Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) on the role of mythology in Analytical Theory and the clinical practice of Jungian psychoanalysis and depth psychotherapy. The concepts will be amplified in presentations. Dr. Hennebert will speak about the Goddesses of Brazil and the Indigenous mythology of the Amazon region. Dr. Vaughan will provide an overview of African mythology and discuss the Yoruba Orisa or the pantheon of Gods and Goddesses from Nigeria and their presence in psyche, the body, and ecology of the African Diaspora.
