319-ProSeminar Introduction to the Role of Psychologists in Primary Care

Wed, Jan 12, 01:00 PM - 03:00 PM PDT

This session is Open to:

All of Saybrook Community (Faculty, Students, Staff, etc..)

Description:

Psychologists are increasingly working in integrated primary care settings. Providers in these settings often have high levels of patient volume and shorter appointments. The role of psychologists in these settings is unique. In this introduction, we will discuss five primary roles of health psychologists: brief assessment, brief intervention, consultation, coordinating care, and crisis care coordination. These roles will be discussed within the framework of humanistic psychology. All CP students are required to attend at least one ProSeminar. This seminar satisfies PSY1011 for incoming CP students.
