DESCRIPTION:The 2014 BRAIN Conference coincided with the launch of the Nati
onal Neuroscience Curriculum Initiative (www.nncionline.org). As a day-lon
g conference prior to the annual meeting of the American Association of Di
rectors of Psychiatric Residency Training (AADPRT)\, our initial focus was
to develop and disseminate a set of educational resources for effectively
teaching neuroscience to psychiatry residents. Our broader goal was to en
able psychiatrists to integrate a modern neuroscience perspective into eve
ry facet of their clinical practice.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOver the past 10 yea
rs we’ve exceeded beyond our wildest expectations. Along the way our mis
sion has evolved: shifting from teaching in the classroom to clinical sett
ings\; reaching out to a broader audience including medical students\, att
endings across specialties\, non-physician professionals\, and the lay pub
lic\; and reimagining how to leverage technology to expand our impact.\n\n
\nWe are excited to bring back an in-person one-day BRAIN Conference on Sa
turday\, May 4th in collaboration with the Columbia Department of Psychiat
ry and coinciding with the start of the annual meeting of the American Psy
chiatric Association in New York. Through large and small group sessions\,
attendees will receive training in various creative approaches to teachin
g neuroscience relevant to psychiatry through technology\, online resource
s\, and flipped classroom exercises. Participants will also learn methods
to incorporate a neuroscience perspective into clinical care through case
 discussions.\n\n\nIf you have attended a BRAIN Conference before\, we’re
excited to welcome you back and share new educational resources and appro
aches. If you’ve never attended a BRAIN Conference before\, we’re exci
ted to have an opportunity to introduce you to the NNCI and share an excit
ing and fun day with you. We hope you will join us!\n\n\nRegistration will
close Wednesday\, April 24\, 2024.\n\n\n Register for this event: https:
