Join us on December 6th for a festive sing-along event led by Dr. Olga Zaitseva-Herz, hosted by the Kule Folklore Centre! This joyous gathering is all about Ukrainian caroling, bringing together the community to celebrate the holiday season in song. This is a casual and fun-filled event with no formal presentations—just a chance to sing, connect, and share in the holiday spirit. Bring your voice and your holiday cheer for a day to remember!

About Olga:

Dr. Olga Zaitseva-Herz is a professional vocal teacher with a strong academic and artistic background in vocal pedagogy and ethnomusicology with over a decade of teaching experience. Trained in Germany, where she studied vocal pedagogy, Olga specializes in a wide range of singing styles, including Ukrainian traditional music, classical repertoire, and contemporary approaches. She holds a PhD in Ethnomusicology from the University of Alberta, where her 2024 dissertation, "Transcultural Singing Between Continents: A Multimodal Reflection of Hybridity in the Ukrainian-Canadian Vernacular Song Repertoire," explored the fusion of Ukrainian singing traditions in Canada. Olga’s artistic practice reflects a deep integration of academic research with performance. She transforms archival folklore materials and ethnographic field recordings into immersive sensory experiences, combining cross-cultural and multistylistic elements with sound, visuals, and choreography to create dynamic, multidimensional performances.
