Evaluation Capacity Network: Cultivating Safe Spaces

Tue, Nov 26, 2024

11:00 AM - 12:30 PM MST

This is a virtual session on November 26 at 11am MST (1pm EST)

Session Details

Co-hosted with Jen Greenway, creator of the Go Smudge Yourself podcast, this workshop will focus on decolonizing relational practices in evaluation through the adoption of an Indigenized mental framework. In doing so, participants will learn how to effectively hold space for the varying personality types they encounter. Grounded in a Syilx framework that highlights Indigenous kinship pedagogy, participants will learn about the “Four Perspectives” (traditional, innovative, relationship, and action) and what each perspective needs to feel safe. Participants will also learn communication styles and problem-solving techniques that will enable them to co-create safe spaces with both their colleagues and clients.

We will be hosting a follow-up discussion session on December 3. Register for the follow-up session here.
