FAQs

What are the dates of the CDTRP Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM)?

The CDTRP Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) is scheduled to take place on December 3-4, 2024 at the Alt Hotel Calgary University District in Calgary, AB. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format, which means that participants will have the option to attend in person or virtually. Note that on December 2nd, there is a full day symposium on advances in pediatric transplantation at the nearby Alberta Children’s Hospital (registration is separate for the two events). To register for the symposium, click here.

Will CDTRP provide a hybrid component?

In-person

We are excited to hold our 11th Annual Scientific Meeting in Calgary, AB! The ASM Program Planning Committee has built a robust program that maximizes interaction with past, present, and future collaborators.

Virtual

For those attendees unable to join us in Calgary, we are running most sessions in an interactive hybrid format (Zoom) allowing virtual attendees the opportunity to ask questions and fully participate in sessions in real-time.

What are the Health & Safety Protocols for in-person in Calgary?

The CDTRP ASM requires masking and regular rapid tests for attendees, and we will be monitoring air quality in the venue. You can consult the full Health & Code of Conduct Policies here. The most recent research shows that in solid organ transplant recipients, around 1 in 16 who are infected with COVID-19 results in a severe case requiring supplemental oxygen (Solera et al, 2024). Among the general population, 1 in 9 Canadians have experienced long term COVID symptoms, and most of these individuals continue to experience them (Statistics Canada, 2023). It is aligned with CDTRP values to protect the health and well-being of our attendees and provide an accessible meeting for those at high risk. If you have any questions, you can contact [email protected].
