Speakers

BRIAN MCDONALD

Brian MacDonald returned to CDK Global as president and chief executive officer in July 2022. He was previously president and CEO of CDK Global between 2016 and late 2018, overseeing a successful transformation effort which created a solid foundation for future growth. During that time, Brian successfully increased margins, met or exceeded earnings consensus every quarter, significantly improved customer service levels, oversaw new product designs and increased employee engagement.  

 

He is a committed and engaged leader who uses a commonsense approach to decision making, problem solving, strategic thinking, and execution that results in successful outcomes.  

 

Prior to CDK, he served as president and CEO for a diverse set of companies including Hertz and Sunoco. He also held executive management roles at Dell, General Motors and Isuzu Motors. He currently serves on the board of directors for Calgary-based Suncor Energy and previously served on the boards of Computer Sciences Corporation (now DXC Technology Company), Ally Financial, Sunoco Inc., Sunoco Logistics L.P., and CDK Global.   

JEFF KAUFFMAN

Jeffrey A. Kauffman has been a recognized authority and thought leader for over 30 years as an equity research analyst covering airlines, freight, logistics, transportation equipment, and more recently, the rideshare and alternative energy industries. During his career, he has been recognized as one of the leading analysts on Wall Street in the transportation and logistics space, ranking at one point amongst the top three analysts in the Wall Street Journal, Institutional Investor and Greenwich Research polls.


Jeff has served in a variety of senior executive roles over the course of his career, most notably as the global head of freight transportation research for Merrill Lynch. Over this past decade, Jeff has been a sector head for passenger and/or freight transportation and equipment research at Sterne Agee, Buckingham Research and Loop Capital Management. In addition, Jeff spent eight years as a buy-side portfolio manager and also founded Tahoe Ventures, LLC, a transportation, entertainment and healthcare strategic advisory firm. He is currently serving as a board member on the Supply Chain & Logistics degree program and the Reese Fund at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.


Jeff has been a frequent contributor on BNN, CNBC, MSNBC, Bloomberg, Fox Business and the Wall Street Journal media outlets regarding economic and transportation industry trends. He also writes a bi-monthly article about freight and economic trends for Heavy Duty Truck magazine. Jeff lives in Scarsdale with his wife, Stephanie, and their three children. When he is not in the office or attending his kids' activities, he enjoys golf, skiing, adult baseball, barbecue and travel.

DAVE CARSON

Dave Carson is vice president of CDK Global Heavy Truck. A 30-year veteran of CDK Global, he has held several roles within the organization, including roles in Enterprise Accounts, OEM Relations, Baseline Sales and Heavy Truck. He also led CDK Global’s OEM team that partnered with General Motors. In his new role, Dave takes on all responsibilities with both CDK Heavy Truck and CDK Enterprise Accounts.

Dave earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at San Diego State University in San Diego, California.

AMY SMITH

Amy Smith is the chief human resources officer at CDK Global. She is responsible for providing strategic and functional human resources leadership across the organization. Amy has more than twenty years of HR experience working in multiple industries and diverse organizations. 

 

Amy joined CDK in 2018 as vice president of human resources for the Sales and Operations organization. Prior to CDK, she served as the chief people officer at PEAK6 where she was instrumental in leading organizational change and aligning HR priorities with strategic business goals.  

 

Amy began her career in HR at GE where she spent more than a decade in HR roles across various industries. 


SARAH CROUCH

Sara joined CDK Global in 2021 and leads the Talent organization within Human Resources, responsible for strategic alignment of all Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Talent Development and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives at CDK.


As a business psychologist with a master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, she has spent over 10 years supporting talent development, leadership capability and cultural transformation across several companies in various industries such as professional services, manufacturing, retail and technology.

CHRIS ANDERSON

Chris Anderson is responsible for developing and executing the product vision and strategy for CDK Global’s Dealer Management System Platform and Shared Services. In this role, Chris spearheads efforts to simplify CDK’s software and accelerate value delivery through tech stack modernization for 10,000+ Heavy Truck and Automotive dealerships.


Chris has held leadership roles in product technology throughout his career, identifying and executing growth opportunities while increasing market share. Prior to CDK Global, Chris served as director of product management for Chrome Data Solutions and Hollander, and was a business strategy liaison at Solera, where he was part of an elite team selected for technology go-to-market implementation for the North American automotive parts aftermarket.


Early in his career, Chris was operations manager for John’s Import Auto Parts, and later was business principal of Salvage Solutions, specializing in change management and operational efficiencies for automotive recyclers and automotive recycling software providers.


Chris earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration from Portland State University.

PETER KAHN

Peter Kahn is the Senior Director of Research and Insights at CDK Global. Peter and his team provide market research, voice of the customer, thought leadership and product satisfaction for stakeholders both within CDK as well as its many customers. With extensive experience leading marketing of technology-based products and services to business customers, Peter provides valuable insights and analysis on changing trends and technologies, guiding CDK’s product roadmaps and marketing engagement while helping automotive dealers make decisions that best benefit their businesses.


Peter started his career in automotive retail as a product manager for The Cobalt Group, building products for auto retailers to transition from running ads in newspapers to leveraging the power of SEO, SEM, website design and lead management as shoppers migrated to obtaining their information online. After the acquisition of Cobalt and formation of CDK, Peter conducted market research projects for the company and has led the Market Research department since its inception in 2016.


Peter earned his Master of Business Administration degree in finance and marketing from Oregon State University, and his post-graduate degree in marketing communications at the University of Washington. Peter is also certified in software product management from the University of Washington

What can I expect to learn? 

We'll offer learning sessions that detail best practices for CDK and other integrated solutions, plus we'll provide insightful research findings and important discussions about present and future development roadmaps. Is this a user conference/classroom event? 

No. CDK TRUCK CONNECT is a summit-style dealer conference. This event will have content and breakout sessions for dealership personnel that interact with CDK solutions daily, as well as upper-level management like Dealer Principals, General Managers, HR Directors and CFOs. 

 

How many people should we send? 

While only you can decide the exact number of attendees, keep in mind that with multiple breakout sessions running at the same time, you won’t be able to cover all the great content by yourself. 

 

Can I bring a guest? 

Yes. You will be able to purchase a specially discounted registration for your guest/significant other. 

 

Are my meals included? 

All meals are included beginning with a Welcome Reception on Tuesday, April 18, and concluding with lunch on Thursday, April 20.
