The Doctor of Pharmacy Program is a four-year professional program that combines coursework and practical experience, leading to the PharmD degree and becoming a pharmacist. In Alberta, pharmacists have the broadest scope of practice in the world. Pharmacists in Alberta offer a wide range of services beyond dispensing medication. They provide health advice, precision medicine, disease screening, injections and vaccinations, as well as prescriptions and referrals. This session will provide an overview of the Doctor of Pharmacy Program, including admission requirements and career prospects.
