Many higher education institutions in Canada have a patchwork quilt of Student Information Systems. Many have also been looking at modernizing them to more contemporary technology platforms and capabilities. For some, this has led to compromised solutions that are, in some cases, worse than they were before. Replacing systems with possibly decades of customized business processes and logic is the apotheosis of a wicked problem. This presentation won’t give you solutions, but we hope to explore some solution paths together.
